Reid Patterson

Dr. Reid Patterson, '69
Dr. Reid Patterson has made several significant contributions to
society through veterinary medicine over the past 35 years. He is a
consummate professional who has served in numerous high-ranking
positions within global healthcare companies, managing as many as
400 R&D professional and technical pharmaceutical specialists.
Patterson has broad international experience, including worldwide
regulatory, scientific and managerial responsibilities for
preclinical and metabolic issues. Furthermore, he has served in
professional leadership roles in a variety of veterinary medicine
professional committees. Patterson has been president of two major
professional organizations for veterinary pathologists in the U.S.,
the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and the Society of
Toxicologic Pathologists, and he is currently chairman for the
International Academy of Toxicologic Pathology and vice president
and board member of the C.L. Davis, DVM Foundation.
Patterson received his PhD in 1976 in Comparative Pathology from
the University of Missouri and is a board-certified Diplomate in
three different specialties: laboratory animal medicine (DACLAM,
1976), veterinary pathology (DACVP, 1978) and general toxicology
(DABT, 1981). Patterson also serves on the board of a
not-for-profit organization, Community Youth Network, which
supports children and families who suffer from abuse. He now
operates his own consulting business and serves as an invaluable
resource for companies that conduct pharmaceutical safety
testing.
He and his wife, Mary Lee, split their time between their homes
in Bonita Springs, Florida, and Elkhorn, Wisconsin. The Pattersons
have a daughter, Keli, and a son, Chris.
