Community Service Opportunities

BSA Blood Drive

BSA will be hosting it's first Blood Drive this semester on February 3rd in the MSC room 1402. A successful donation will count as two community service hours. If you are interested in making an appointment to donate, click on the following link:

Science Bowl

If you are interested in volunteering at Science Bowl, a math and science competition for high schoolers held here at TAMU, contact

You will need to attend at least informational meeting: January 31st from 9-11am, February 1st from 10-12 or 6-8pm

The Science Bowl is February 4th in Blocker, volunteering is from 8am-2:30pm or 8am-5pm

Big Event

Big Event 2017 will be March 25th. We will make a Big Event group and send out information on how to sign up for Relay with BSA!

Aggie Relay For Life

Aggie Relay for Life 2017 will be on April 28th. We will make a Relay team and send out information on how to sign up for Relay with BSA!

Annual State FFA Veterinary Science Clinic and Competition

Help Dr. Larry Johnson and the PEER program to promote STEM among high school students. Volunteers will be acting as guides, room/hall proctors, and educators (depending on education/experience). Contact Torri Whitaker at Both Events will be held at the Vet School:

  • Clinic: Saturday, March 4th: morning session 7:30 –11:40 and afternoon session: 12:30 – 4:30 ( do not have to volunteer for both)
  • Competition: Saturday, April 29th from 7:30 – 12:30

Brazos Valley Food Bank

The Brazos Valley Food Bank allows us to come in a few Friday's each semester to sort food, pack lunch sacks for kids, and dinner boxes for families in the community. Spots to volunteer at the food bank are limited. If you sign up and can no longer make it, make sure you take your name off the Google doc so someone else can participate. BSA will send out a Google doc to sign up for the Food Bank closer to the scheduled dates! The address for the food bank is: 1501 Independence Ave, Bryan, TX 77803

The dates are: February 10th, March 10th, April 7th

Bryan Animal Center

BSA will be volunteering at the Bryan Animal as a group on a few Saturdays this semester! Volunteering can also still be done on an individual basis.

The dates for group volunteering are: February 11th, March 3rd, April 14th.

Canned Food Collection

BSA will be collecting cans for the Brazos Valley Food Bank in the BIMS office. 3 cans = 1 hour of community service (Max 9 cans = 3 hours). Cans should be bagged, not loose. Insert a slip of paper into the bag with your name, club branch, and number of cans. No staples please, as they rip the bags. The deadline for turning in cans will be April 12th at 5pm in the BIMS office.

Traditions Health Care – A Home Health and Hospice Service Provider
