The College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M invites you to participate the first ever Conference on Integrating Veterinary Medicine & First Response: Large Animal Responders to be held September 14 - 16, 2012
This conference is designed to introduce Veterinarians and First Responders to principles of safety when dealing with down, injured, trapped or loose horses, cattle and wildlife. Communications protocols, equine and wildlife behavior, rescue and containment equipment, as well as, animal restraint and movement will be included. Capture and restraint of wounded animals will be covered along with personal safety, humane euthanasia, and principals of proper disposal of euthanized or naturally dead animals. There will be a demonstration of proper techniques involved with an airlift rescue at TEEX Disaster City. This conference is being held in conjunction with The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
