Chair(s): Dr. James BarrBuilding on the success of past meetings at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, we extend a cordial invitation to attend the 2013 Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Conference: Traumatology. The theme of the conference is trauma and we will discuss challenges, treatment strategies and innovations that are related to patients that are traumatized. The goal is to present cutting edge information and have discussions that are practical and applicable. We would like each participant to take away key points from this conference that they can apply the minute they return to their practice. We believe that you do not have to be in a referral practice to practice high quality medicine.
The conference will cover a wide range of topics as they apply to the traumatized patient. We are proud to present speakers from a diverse group of specialists and practitioners at Texas A&M. Clinical specialists from dermatology, surgery, neurology, anesthesia, cardiology and emergency and critical care will all present their expertise to treat those traumatic injuries. We will also include a section on disaster medicine and lessons learned by the TAMU Veterinary Emergency Team that has helped our neighbors by responding to disasters that have occurred.
Trauma is a common presenting complaint, and this CE meeting will take you from presentation to definitive therapy of the traumatized patient. Overall, we anticipate a highly practical, useful and intellectually stimulating event. Full participation in this event will provide the practitioner with the 17 hours of CE needed for annual Texas licensure. Online registration is now closed. Attendees may still register on site at the registration table in the vet school lobby.
