Food Animal

June 2-3, 2017

Credit Hours: 16

Our program will highlight diseases of two of the most economically important body systems of ruminants: the respiratory system and the reproductive system. Our expert panel of speakers will bring the knowledge they have gained from personal experience and their own clinical trials on the topics of immune response to BRD vaccines, diagnostic tools for identifying BRD pathogens and management techniques to reduce BRD. Then we will hear the latest on advanced reproductive techniques and management schemes for optimal reproductive efficiency in beef cows. This year we will also offer a wet lab on the breeding soundness exam of the buck and ram. In this laboratory, the participant will learn about the indications, limitations, and procedure of breeding soundness examination in either a ram or buck. The attendee will gain knowledge how to perform a complete genital examination, semen collection, and evaluation. Early Bird Registration begins Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Regular Registration begins Friday, May 19, 2017.
