Criteria and General Background Information
  • This study will use multiple imaging modalities (transthoracic echocardiogram, transesophageal echocardiography with biplane and 3D imaging, and CT angiography) to evaluate dogs with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), a congenital heart defect
  • Screening tests will ensure each dog has a PDA and determine which method of closure is recommended
  • Typical PDA occlusion costs apply ($2900, without complications)

Owner Commitments
  • Only 1 visit that includes 2-3 days of hospitalization is required for the study
Financial Incentives
  • CT angiography will not be any additional cost to the owner
