Application Information

The College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University provides its students with the broad comparative medicine knowledge base and the clinical skill and insight necessary to treat and prevent animal diseases.

Becoming a veterinarian requires dedication and diligent study. The veterinary medical student must meet high standards of ethics and academic performance. Although the demands on student time and energy are considerable, the rewards and challenges are numerous.

**All applicants will be required to take the newest version of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) exam. All applicants must have taken this test between August 1, 2011 and September 30, 2012. We will not accept any test scores prior to August 1, 2011.

ATTENTION ALL FUTURE APPLICANTS:

Application deadline for admission into the Fall 2013 semester will be October 1, 2012 at 5 p.m. (CST). Information to aide applicants in determining residency status can be found on our eligibility page.

  • Deadline date (last day) to take the GRE exam - must be current version of GRE (must be any exam taken as of August 1, 2011 and thereafter. We will not accept any scores prior to August 1, 2011.)
  • Must contact GRE to set up registration and schedule date to take the newest version of the GRE. MUST be taken by September 30 (Exam must be taken as of August 1, 2011 and thereafter. We will not accept any scores prior to August 1, 2011.)

Monday, October 1 by 5 p.m. (CST)
  • Applicant Evaluations & official transcripts must be submitted via postal mail postmarked by this date directly to: TMDSAS, 702 Colorado, Suite 6.400, Austin, TX 78701.
  • Must have supplemental application fee postmarked by this date to ensure processing of your application to the DVM Program here Texas A&M University.

    One evaluation must be from a veterinarian. Please notify your evaluators that we will no longer accept letters of support with the evaluation.

  • You must ensure that your application fee is received at TMDSAS by this date because if not your application will be disqualified.
  • Check the status of your payment as well as receipt of all supporting documents through TMDSAS "Check Status" page.

  • All applicant statuses should be known.
  • Notification is done by e-mail and regular mail. You must be sure that TMDSAS has your most current and up-to-date e-mail and postal address on file.

  • All prerequisite courses must be completed and all transcripts submitted to the College of Veterinary Medicine within 15 days of the end of the semester.
  • Request official transcripts from your institution to be mailed to the College of Veterinary Medicine.
