Facilities update

As construction of the Veterinary & Biomedical Education Complex moves forward, and the buildings begin to take shape, tours will become available. Please contact Heather Quiram or Sam Wigington to coordinate a visit. Given the inherent dangers of a construction site, particularly one of this size, please DO NOT enter the fenced area without an escort. Skanska has an excellent safety record and we would like to help them keep it that way.

Hospital to deploy patient advocates

The hospital has been working on plans to deploy a team of staff called patient advocates. They will be led by Jimann Jones in the Large Animal Hospital and Jean Anne Day in the Small Animal Hospital. At any given time during the day we will have at least one staff member out from behind the counter providing a heightened level of client services. They will greet clients in the lobby, assist faculty with delivering patient updates in a timely manner, answer client questions, and generally help to ensure the clients’ comfort while in the hospital.
