Blake grew up on San Juan Island in Washington State, but got to Texas as quick as he could to be a 1st generation Aggie, WHOOOOP! In 2011, Blake graduated with a B.S. degree majoring in Biomedical Science and minoring in Music. In December of 2013, he finished his Thesis and earned a M.S. degree in Biomedical Science. Blake really enjoys veterinary medicine and the science that helps develop the field of internal medicine. His most prominent interests include the gastrointestinal microbiome, metabolomics, and non-coding (micro) RNAs in small animals. In January of 2014 Blake began pursuing his PhD in the GI Lab. In his spare time, Blake enjoys the great outdoors. He is an avid fly fisherman and private pilot and has spent summers in Bristol Bay, Alaska commercial fishing for Sockeye Salmon.
