Dr. Niels Grützner

Niels graduated in 2005 with a veterinary degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Leipzig, Germany. After working a year in a private large animal specialty practice, he returned to academia in spring of 2006 to work on a postgraduate doctoral degree in veterinary medicine (Dr.med.vet.). The work at the Gastrointestinal Laboratory at Texas A&M University provides him with very valuable knowledge in gastroenterology, a field he is particularly interested in, and with a variety of research and laboratory skills. Therefore, he continues doing a PhD and his research is focused on genetic markers for cobalamin deficiency in the Chinese Shar Pei.
