Dr. Romy Heilmann

Romy graduated in 2005 with her veterinary degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Leipzig, Germany. She then spent some time in small animal general practice, and returned to academia in fall of 2005 to work on a postgraduate doctoral degree in veterinary medicine. She received her Dr.med.vet. degree from the Vetsuisse Faculty of Berne University, Switzerland in 2008. After completing a rotating internship at the Small Animal Veterinary Referral Center TUEZ in Switzerland, Romy started her small animal internal medicine residency program at Texas A&M University in 2012. Her residency project involves the development of new markers for chronic enteropathies in dogs. Romy has a strong interest in interventional radiology and interventional endoscopy.
