Lauren Pluhar is a native Texan with a passion for animals,
communication, and supporting others. A second generation Aggie,
she received her bachelors degree in animal science at Texas
A&M University in 2009, and a master of science in marketing
from Texas A&M University in 2013.
Lauren began her professional life at the Texas A&M College of
Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences immediately following
her undergraduate education, providing administrative support to
the dean of the college. It was a natural fit, as her husband, Joe,
was a professional student in the DVM program. During that time,
she gained valuable work experience and continued to develop her
passion for small business, which shaped her decision to enter a
full-time master’s program. Following graduation, Lauren became an
independent consultant, working with small businesses, both
start-ups and established, as well as non-profits. Her drive was to
help small businesses reach their target markets and communicate
more effectively with current and potential customers.
Following a move back to Bryan/College Station in fall 2016, Lauren
rejoined the college. She is excited to bring her skills to the
Office of Research & Graduate Studies and enjoys being a part
of a high-functioning team who deeply values research activities
and graduate education. In addition to providing administrative
support to the Associate Dean for Research & Graduate Studies,
Lauren supports the research activities of the college.
Lauren and Joe are the parents of two fur children, Shorty, a
Miniature Australian Shepherd, and Zooey Deschanel, a Himalayan.
Lauren loves creating things, from artwork to furniture, and is the
happiest when she is in her workshop.
