MSC L.T. Jordan Institute for International Awareness
Fellows Program
The Jordan Institute for International Awareness is pleased to
announce the 2012-2013 Fellows Program. This program provides
highly qualified graduate and undergraduate students grants (up to
$2000 depending on the quality of individual proposals) to perform
an independent international research project. Participants design
a specific independent international study or research project in
another country that will enhance their educational or career
goals. We prefer applicants who have had limited to no travel
experiences abroad. This fellowship is designed for individual
study or research and is not designed to fund a Study/Internship
Abroad program.
The application process is rigorous and involves submitting a
pre-proposal and a proposal, and having a personal interview. See
specific details and requirements can be found on the L.T. Jordan
Institute for International Awareness website: http://ltjordan.tamu.edu/fellows/.
Up to six Fellows will be selected and honored at a formal banquet
with their guests in the spring.
Information on the Fellows Program will be presented at an
informational on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 5:15-6:15 pm. Students
are invited to attend and ask questions.

South Africa - Ukulima Farm RFP
Request for Proposals
The Ukulima Farm is a new research platform for the Texas
A&M System in South Africa. The farm is a collaborative effort
between the Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture
of the Texas A&M System and the Howard G. Buffett
Foundation.
We seek applications from researchers throughout the Texas
A&M System and their international colleagues to implement
innovative collaborative research programs using the Ukulima Farm
platform. These programs are intended to be long-term in scope.
Seed money will be available for the first 3 years of programs to
attract additional resources for establishing relationships and
relevancy of the experiment station and the overall research
agenda. These research programs should focus on emerging commercial
African farmers.
