Gross Evaluations
The CVP lab can do gross evaluations on a fee for service basis
for pre-clinical studies at the Texas Institute of Preclinical
Studies (TIPS). The facility is equipped for performing gross
evaluations on large animals or small animals. We specialize in
explanting and evaluating cardiovascular devices. Some of the
services CVP offers include:
- Perfusion fixation of tissues
- Tissue collection
- Organ weights
- Snap freezing of tissues
- Gross evaluation of devices/specimens
- Sectioning for histological processing
Gross Photography and Sectioning
On a fee for service basis, gross pathological evaluation of the
tissues, organs and medical device in situ is available by
a trained pathologist. We use multiple high resolution Canon
Digital SLR cameras to capture images.
