Dr. Deb Zoran to be featured on Teaching for Tomorrow

Texas A&M University's Center for Teaching Excellence and the Division of Marketing & Communications presents Teaching for Tomorrow, a new series of online videos capturing faculty and their students interacting in teaching and learning environments both inside and outside of the classroom. President R. Bowen Loftin launched the first episode April 5, 2011. New videos premiere weekly, each one showcasing award-winning faculty members from nine colleges within the university.

The video series will wrap up with a visit to the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences that is set to premiere May 31, 2011. Representing the college is award-winning faculty member Dr. Deb Zoran, associate professor in the department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. Viewers will gain insight to Zoran's favorite teaching strategies as well as some of her tips for communicating effectively within the classroom.

"It is a great honor for me to be asked to represent our college in the Teaching for Tomorrow series," said Zoran. "We have so many wonderful teachers in our college, that I feel truly humbled to represent us in some small way."

The video with Zoran and her students involves a clip of a rounds discussion about managing a cat with diabetes.  All of the videos in the series also include feedback from students. Students voice their opinions about the featured faculty member and express their thoughts about the class in general.
