Dr. Thomas Craig Wins AAVP- Merial Distinguished Veterinary Parasitologist Award
Dr. Thomas Craig, professor at the Texas A&M College of
Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, received the
American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists (AAVP)-Merial
Distinguished Veterinary Parasitologist Award while attending the
56th annual AAVP meeting.
The meeting was held jointly with the 55th annual
Livestock Insect Workers' Conference (LIWC) and the 11th
annual International Symposium for Ectoparasites of Pets (ISEP) on
July 16-19, 2011 at the Sheraton Westport Hotel in St. Louis,
Missouri.
"It is a great honor, and I do not believe it is because of me
per se but because of what many others have done over the years,"
said Craig.
The award is the highest award given out by the AAVP, and Craig
received a plaque and an honorarium.
"I have been fortunate to have interacted with many people at
all levels and at different steps in their careers; we did a lot
and I just happened to be one that worked hard and
accomplished some useful work," said Craig.
