Class of 1960 Celebrates

Texas A&M DVM Class of 1960

The Texas A&M DVM Class of 1960  met on October 23-25 to celebrate 55 years of service and dedication to veterinary medicine. Ten members of the surviving 20 classmates joined together from all over Texas and California to rekindle their friendships and share fond memories of the CVM. Dr. Harold Putnam ’60 led the effort in getting his class together for this reunion with the help of Dr. Robert Ables ’60 and the late Dr. Buddy Smith.

They began their reunion in College Station, TX on October 23 with a dinner at the Hilton. They enjoyed a tour of the CVM on Saturday, October 24, followed by a class dinner and a Texas Aggie Football watch party at the Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM ’56 Equine Complex. The DVM Class of 1960 also enjoyed a brunch on Sunday morning before they departed Texas A&M. All class members received official CVM Centennial ball caps, commemorating the 100-year anniversary of the CVM, and honoring the past 100 years of DVM graduates.

Dr. Putnam and his classmates are now working to endow their class scholarship so that future Aggie veterinarians can share the same incredible experiences they had at the CVM.
