Mays Named Recruiting, Student Services Director for PPO

MaysGlennonDr. Glennon Mays has been selected as the Director of Recruiting and Student Services in the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences'  Professional Programs Office, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Mays, an Aggie alumnus who earned both his bachelor's and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Texas A&M, is a clinical associate professor of equine field service in the CVM's Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences (VLCS).

In that role, he is among the faculty members who supervise fourth-year veterinary students who participate in the two-week elective rotation within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Agribusiness System, during which students gain hands-on experience in individual and population medicine for livestock and canines by caring for the animals raised and housed at several prisons in the area. Mays will continue to support the TDCJ rotation through the spring semester as he transitions to the PPO group.

His other research interests include prevention and control of infectious agents, theriogenology, and canine and equine dentistry.

"We were very fortunate to have two very qualified individuals who interviewed for this position and I want to thank Dr. Musser for his commitment to the DVM program," said Dr. Karen Cornell, associate dean for professional programs.
