Small Animal Department Welcomes Emergency, Critical Care Prof

JustinHeinzAfter serving as a resident at the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, Dr. Justin Heinz has joined the Department of Veterinary Small Animal Clinical Sciences (VSCS) as a clinical assistant professor of emergency and critical care.

Dr. Heinz obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University and went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at Louisiana State University, followed by his residency in emergency and critical care at Texas A&M University.

He also is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.

"Dr. Heinz brings expertise from academia and private practice and will contribute to the VSCS's growing Emergency, Critical Care, and Intensive Care Unit teams," said Dr. Jonathan Levine, professor, Helen McWhorter Chair and head of the VSCS department.
