Surgical Oncologist Joins Small Animal Hospital

The Department of Veterinary Small Animal Clinical Sciences (VSCS) in the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences has welcomed Dr. Brandan Wustefeld-Janssens as an assistant professor of surgical oncology.

Dr. Wustefeld-Janssens completed his veterinary training at University of Pretoria, in South Africa; obtained a Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice through Royal Veterinary College (UK); and finished a residency in Small Animal Surgery at University of Liverpool (UK) that resulted in board certification in surgery through the European College of Veterinary Surgeons. He then went on to a one-year fellowship in surgical oncology through Colorado State University.

“Dr. Wustefeld-Janssens has brought a wealth of new ideas, expertise, and techniques to the college that will increase our depth in the areas of surgery, oncology, and clinical/translational research,” said Dr. Jonathan Levine, professor, Helen McWhorter Chair and head of the VSCS department.
