Students Show Us the One Health Way

CVM VENI building

Through multiple programs, the Texas A&M One Health Initiative seeks to provide One Health opportunities to students throughout their college career. With funding from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM) and Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, a One Health Student Travel Award established in January 2016 served to promote student presentation of research with One Health implications to scientific conferences.

Thus far, 25 Texas A&M graduate and professional students applied, representing the CVM, College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts, College of Medicine, and School of Public Health. Eleven students were selected through a rigorous review by a panel of successful researchers.

Students who received the One Health Student Travel Award represent the CVM, College of Liberal Arts, College of Medicine, School of Public Health, and College of Agriculture & Life Sciences and will attend conferences from Texas to Brighton, England. As they return from their travels, profiles of each student will be available at http://onehealth.tamu.edu/education/.
