March 2014 Facilities Update

The following is to advise you of the construction projects for the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. We will provide additional updates periodically to keep you informed.

On-going projects

  • The Equine Center construction is nearing completion. This public-private partnership will create an arena, nutrition research facility, equine reproduction teaching and research center, a teaching and outreach center, and support facilities at the corner of F&B Road and FM2818. The Equine Center is scheduled to open spring 2014.
  • The College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences has begun construction of a new 13,900 square foot facility on F&B Road. The new facility will include the following spaces: multipurpose rooms, healthy aviary, unhealthy aviary and a quarantine and BSL2 aviary. Construction is expected to be complete by July 2014.

Future projects

  • The College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences' new Education Building construction is scheduled to begin in May 2014. The new facility is expected to house classrooms, teaching laboratories, meeting spaces, administrative and faculty offices, and other support spaces
  • The College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences will be constructing a new multi-species research facility off Discovery Drive. The new facility will include kennels for various small animals with the capability for indoor and outdoor housing.
