Project Midnight
Midnight is the
service dog and companion of Ms. Miller, a local citizen greatly in
need of our help. Ms. Miller struggles with cerebral palsy, a
neurological disease affecting her lifestyle. She has limited
communication skills and mobility. Due to her condition, she is
unable to provide Midnight (a black lab) with the exercise and
play-time every dog deserves.

Project Midnight requires two people to walk
Midnight daily. The shifts are from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
during the summer and involve taking Midnight in Ms. Miller's truck
to Research Park in College Station. Midnight is walked for 30 to
45 minutes and given a bath twice a week (Mondays and Fridays) to
keep his coat in top condition.
This project requires a daily commitment for
a week. If you would like to help, please understand the importance
of your participation and respect her requested
schedule.
A week-long commitment to Project Midnight
will earn you 20 hours of community service (with points being
doubled for summer). This completely fulfills your service
requirements for membership for the entire semester. These hours of
community service can also be used when applying to veterinary
school.
If you would like to help with this very
important project, please sign up at the next meeting, in the cube,
or contact Crystal at vptamuprevet@gmail.com to coordinate which week you would like to
participate.
