Postdoctoral Trainee Research Grants
Dear Interns, Residents, Postdocs and RAs,
The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
strongly supports the professional development and welfare of
all trainees
under this broad umbrella (clinical, basic, and
applied). I am pleased to announce the availability
of CVM postdoctoral trainee research grants for the second year in
a row. These research grants will provide $10,000 to each
trainee through a competitive review process. The
proposals will be evaluated by an experienced review committee that
will recommend funding of truly competitive proposals. Only
exceptional proposals will be selected for funding. If no
outstanding proposals are identified then the funds will be held
back. The proposals
must target emerging research areas in clinical and applied/basic
sciences, and current research priorities within various funding
agencies. The grant will serve as seed money to
generate preliminary data and is an incentive to aggressively
prepare and submit proposals to various extramural federal and
state agencies and foundations/ associations. While you will be
working very closely with your mentor in the preparation of the
proposal for this RFP, if successful in obtaining the CVM grant,
interaction with the Postdoctoral Association's advisors and some
of the highly experienced and successful PIs within the college
during the next phase of submissions will be strongly
encouraged.
We greatly value your contributions to the research enterprise
of the college and the university, and take great pride in the
excellent work you are all doing. Through this RFP, we would like
to be a part of your training and future success.
Please note that all application details including eligibility
and deadlines are included in the attached RFP. If you have any
