PostDoc: Epigenetics of Early Mammalian Development
The Reproductive Sciences lab at Texas A&M University is
seeking highly qualified postdoctoral fellows with experience in
molecular biology and / or mammalian embryo culture to work in a
young & enthusiastic research environment. Our group is
interested in examining the epigenetics of early mammalian
development. Specifically we are examining the function of DNA
methylating and histone modifying enzymes during early
preimplantation and postimplantation development. We will examine
the role these enzymes play in constraining endogenous
retro-elements, maintaining stem cell identity and establishment /
maintenance of lineage choices.
Requirements
DVM and/or PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or
Reproductive Physiology. Preference will be given to candidates
with demonstrated experience and publications in the analysis of
gene expression, embryology and or placenta biology. Expertise in
stem cell biology and/or techniques examining DNA methylation or
histone modifications will be particularly welcome. We are looking
for highly motivated scientists who wish to join an interactive
team at the cutting edge of research in epigenetics.
Texas A&M University is located in College Station, 1.5
hours from Houston or Austin, and 2.5 hours from Dallas or San
Antonio. College Station provides a variety of housing options,
with low crime rates and very low cost of living. The community is
very close knit as is our lab. To apply, please send a curriculum
vitae, a short statement of research interests and experience, and
three names of references with contact information (e-mails and
phone numbers) to Dr. Michael Golding (click here for e-mail)
International and minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
Texas A&M University is a diversity minded Affirmative
Action/Equal opportunity employer.
