Missions
2010-2011 MISSIONS:
This year, the CVF is sending a 9-person mission team to
Honduras over Christmas break and a 4th year vet student
to join a veterinary mission team in India in January.
A message from the Honduras Team:

This Christmas, a group of veterinary students from Texas
A&M will be giving up one week to serve the people of Honduras
and to be a part of something greater. Through our passion and
talents for Veterinary Medicine, we will have the opportunity to
share the Way, the Truth, and the Life with those who don't know
while also providing for the physical needs of their livestock. The
Gospel is moving and growing in the entire world, and we are ready
to be a part of His work!
The trip will be from December 11-18, 2010. We will be trekking
into some of the poorest villages surrounding Tegucigalpa, the
capital city of Honduras. Between veterinary work, children's
ministry, and relationship building with the local people we will
be part of a short but life-changing week!
If you would like to be a part of what we are doing, please join
this group! Your support and prayers will make a way for us to
share the greatest love we could ever know and to give back with
what we have been so richly given.
Sincerely,

A message from Kelly Robinson, 4VM:
"I am excitedly preparing for a short-term missions opportunity
in India this winter through Christian Veterinary Mission (CVM). I
plan to depart January 5 to serve with other CVM volunteers in
association with the India Gospel League (IGL) in Salem, India. IGL
participates in rural and community development as part of its
outreach; one of the components of this outreach is animal
husbandry. During last year's trip, a team of one vet and 3
students treated 72 dogs, 7 rabbits, 21 chickens, 26 water buffalo,
516 sheep and goats, and 297 cattle in just seven days. We will be
assisting IGL in animal husbandry as well as complementing the
evangelism and church planting efforts carried out in local
villages in the surrounding area. I will return to the United
States on January 14.
You may be asking yourself why I want to do this. I attended a
conference called 'Passion 2010' in Atlanta, GA this past winter.
It opened my eyes to the world around me and showed me the great
need that this world has for people who live to glorify God. I was
no longer content to simply carry out the goals I had planned for
my life, but was instead challenged to go beyond what I had
previously thought possible. I have been praying that I could live
a life outside of myself, bigger than my own personal goals. I
believe God gave me the opportunity to go to vet school and I want
to use my skills for His glory. I couldn't ask for a better
opportunity that unites the passions in my life: serving God and
practicing veterinary medicine. He has filled me to overflowing
with a love and compassion for His people. I truly feel called to
this opportunity and look forward to what God has in store for me
on this trip."
"But you will receive power when
the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth." - Acts 1:8
