SVECCS
SVECCS is the extraordinarily long acronym for the student
organization operated under the guidance of the Veterinary
Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS). Through various
activities and opportunities offered to members, SVECCS strives to
advance student knowledge and competence in emergency medicine and
critical care.

Membership in SVECCS gives you access to an array of educational
(and fun!) opportunities, including seminars,
rounds,
wetlabs,
mini-externships, and
Small Animal
ICU programs.
In response to a tragic College Station barn fire in September
2003, VECCS began the Fesses Salty Memorial Fund to
help vet students cover their animals' emergency medical expenses.
The Fund is named in honor of "Fesses Salty," our club president,
Jennifer Wall's horse, who was fatally burned in the fire. Both
small and large animal emergencies are eligible for assistance. The
Fesses Salty Memorial Fund has raised money to help three vet
students' horses (two fire victims and one colic surgery) thus
far.
We hope that you will find your membership in SVECCS to be a
rewarding experience!
