Welcome to the Veterinary Imaging Club at Texas A&M College
of Veterinary Medicine! The Veterinary Imaging Club is committed to
advancing the knowledge, education and awareness of veterinary
diagnostic imaging among veterinarians, students and the
public.
The Veterinary Imaging Club seeks to provide members with
significant learning opportunities in this challenging yet
rewarding area of veterinary medicine. Imaging modalities such as
radiology, fluoroscopy, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging
(MRI), computed tomography (CT), and nuclear scintigraphy have an
extensive capacity to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of
diseases in veterinary patients. Proficiency in veterinary
diagnostic imaging is an essential part of small animal, large
animal and mixed animal medicine, which is why every veterinary
student should consider joining the Veterinary Imaging Club!
Veterinary Imaging Club is one of the newest clubs at Texas
A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, with our beginning in
2011-2012. As a member of Veterinary Imaging Club, students will
get the opportunity to participate in many activities throughout
the school year including:
- Monthly club meetings, where our focus is to have exceptional
speakers discuss exciting and relevant topics in the field of
veterinary diagnostic imaging
- Hands-on learning opportunities throughout the year for
students to practice performing imaging-related technical skills,
including ultrasound examination, under the direct supervision and
guidance of veterinarians and trained technicians
Please consider attending the next Veterinary Imaging Club
meeting, we'd love to see you there! Check back soon for updated
information on specific monthly club meeting dates and topics, as
well as how to sign up for ultrasound wet labs and other activities
for the 2012-2013 school year!
Membership dues are $20/year and can be paid to Treasurer Julia
Lindholm.
