Matthew W. Miller, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Miller is currently Professor of Cardiology in The Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery in the College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University and immediate past president of the ACVIM Cardiology Specialty. He received his DVM degree from The Ohio State University in 1984 and his Masters of Science degree from the same university in 1993. He completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group from 1984 to 1985 and a cardiology residency at The Ohio State University from 1985 to 1988. He became a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 1988. He is a Charter Fellow of the Michael E. DeBakey Institute of Comparative Cardiovascular Science and Biomedical Devices.

Sonya G. Gordon, DVM, DVSc, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Gordon is an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Texas A&M University. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario, Canada in 1994 and earned her DVSc in Veterinary Cardiology from the same university in 1998. Dr. Gordon became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 1999. She is a Charter Fellow of the Michael E. DeBakey Institute for Comparative Cardiovascular Sciences and Biomedical Devices at TAMU. Dr. Gordon received the Richard H. Davis Teaching Award at TAMU in 2004 for excellence in teaching. She is pictured with Joey, her Dalmatian.

Ashley B. Saunders, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Saunders is an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Texas A&M University. She received her DVM degree from Texas A&M University, completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Tennessee and a cardiology residency at Texas A&M University. Dr. Saunders is board certified in the specialty of cardiology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She is a Fellow of the Michael E. DeBakey Institute for Comparative Cardiovascular Sciences and Biomedical Devices. She is pictured with her French Bulldogs, DJ and Max.

Kathy Glaze, RVT

Kathy Glaze is a registered veterinary technician and has been a technician at Texas A&M University since 1991. She is currently the supervisor of the medicine technicians. Glaze was a founding member of Brazos Valley Golden Retriever Rescue and served as president for 4 years. She has been an active member of Cavalier Rescue for the past 5 years. Kathy specializes in managing the cardiovascular catheterization laboratory and her areas of interest include EKG interpretation and holter monitor analysis. Kathy enjoys kayaking with Grace, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, pictured below.

Katy Waddell, RVT, VTS (ECC, Anesthesia)

Katy Waddell is a 1976 graduate of Texas State Technical Institute, Waco, Texas, with an AAS in Animal Health Technology. She became a registered veterinary technician in the state of Texas in 1977. She taught at Morehead State University in the veterinary technician training program. She was a member of the TAMU technical staff from 1980-1987. She rejoined the TAMU technical staff in 2002 as the anesthesia service technician coordinator. She obtained her veterinary technician specialty certification in emergency/critical care in 2002 and in anesthesia in 2006. Katy joined the cardiology team in May 2006 with the desire to complement the service by assisting with student teaching and to provide anesthesia support.
