Audrey Cook graduated with Distinction from the Royal (Dick)
School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in
1989. The following year, she completed an Internship in Small
Animal Medicine and Surgery at North Carolina State University
College of Veterinary Medicine, and then spent three years at the
University of California at Davis College of Veterinary Medicine as
a Resident in Small Animal Internal Medicine. In 1994, she passed
the examinations and completed the requirements to become a
Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
In 1996, she achieved Diplomate status in the European College of
Veterinary Internal Medicine. From 1997 to 2007, Audrey Cook owned
a specialty referral practice in Newport News, Virginia, before
joining the faculty at Texas A&M.

Kathy Scott obtained her DVM from
Oklahoma State in 2003. She completed an internship in Small Animal
Medicine and Surgery at Kansas State University before starting her
Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine here at Texas A&M
in 2004. She completed this program in 2007, and achieved Board
Certification with the American College of Veterinary Internal
Medicine in 2009. Since 2007, Dr. Scott has been on faculty here,
assigned primarily to the Feline and Canine Internal Medicine
Services. Her professional interests include feline medicine,
nephrology, and gastrointestinal disorders. She particularly enjoys
working with and teaching veterinary students. In her spare time
she enjoys watching movies and going hiking.

Jörg Steiner received his veterinary degree from the
Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany in 1992. He did an
internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University
of Pennsylvania from 1992 to 1993 and a residency in small animal
internal medicine at Purdue University from 1993 to 1996. He
received his Dr.med.vet. degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians
University in Munich, Germany in 1995 in recognition of research on
feline trypsin and feline trypsin-like immunoreactivity. In 1996 he
achieved board certification with the American College of
Veterinary Internal Medicine and the European College of Veterinary
Internal Medicine. In 2000 Dr. Steiner received a PhD from Texas
A&M University for his work on canine digestive lipases and
their use for the diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders in the
dog. He currently serves as Professor with the Department of Small
Animal Medicine and Surgery and the Department of Veterinary
Pathobiology at Texas A&M University. Dr. Steiner also serves
as Director of the GI Laboratory at Texas A&M University and is
involved in a wide variety of research in small animal
gastroenterology.

Mike Willard graduated from Texas A&M in 1975, spent 2 years
at Kansas State doing an internship and a Master's program, and
then went to Michigan State as a resident, staying on as an
assistant professor. He then was an assistant professor and an
associate professor at Mississippi State University before going
back to Michigan State as an associate professor in 1985. He
returned to Texas in 1988 where he has been since. Mike has also
consulted at a private referral practice in San Antonio.

Dr. Deb Zoran is an Associate Professor and Chief of Small
Animal Internal Medicine in the Department of Veterinary Small
Animal Clinical Sciences at Texas A&M University. She is a 1984
graduate of Kansas State University's College of Veterinary
Medicine. Following graduation, she entered private clinical
practice in the Phoenix, Arizona area until returning in 1987 to
Iowa State University for her small animal internal medicine
residency. She completed a Master's degree and became a Diplomate
of the ACVIM - Small Animal Internal Medicine during her time
there. In 1992, she moved to Texas A&M University to undertake
a PhD in Nutrition with Dr. Joanne Lupton, and completed her
dissertation: "Butyrate and the colonocyte: Effect on cellular
events and role in protection against colon cancer" in 1997. Since
that time, Dr. Zoran has been a member of the clinical faculty in
the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at Texas A&M
University where she is actively involved with clinical, teaching,
and research activities in small animal gastroenterology,
nutrition, and feline medicine.
Jean Laird
Veterinary Technician
Jean has worked on the Internal Medicine Service for over three
years. She has extensive experience in small animal care and
supervises all the small animal endoscopy procedures. She also
teaches clinical skills such as blood collection and catheter
placement to the veterinary students.
