"I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian when I visited my
mother's family ranches as a young girl," Alex said. "Being
around all of those animals made me happy, and I knew being able to
care for them would provide a fulfilling career for me."
Alex's school survival tip? "Break assignments up into
manageable tasks. When an assignment seems too overwhelming, it
becomes too difficult to start and it becomes very easy to
procrastinate. Once the assignment is broken up, develop a timeline
so that you stay on track."
