Photo of AlyssaAlyssa is a Biomedical Sciences major in the class of 2016. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine, perhaps working with Doctors Without Borders in aiding developing countries. She works part time at the Medical Sciences Library, so you can always find her there, either working or studying. When she is not at the library she is at home cooking and playing with her pup.

“I have a precious puppy named Ginger, who I recently rescued from an animal shelter back home,” Alyssa said.

“I knew I wanted to pursue a career in medicine ever since I was young, but the ambition to assist abroad came when I went to Honduras with Global Medical Brigades, and we helped communities in the struggling regions,” she continued

Her school survival tip? Start off strong in the beginning of the semester. As the semester continues, classes tend to become difficult, but if you take the time to apply yourself at the beginning it will help for what is to come.
