Photo of CatherineCatherine might be from Austin, Texas, but that didn't deter her from being an Aggie since birth. (Whoop!) She has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was five years old and still can't believe that in May 2016, she will be Dr. Lang. Catherine did her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M. She applied for veterinary school at the beginning of her junior year and was accepted after three years of undergraduate study. No matter the test schedule, you can always count on Catherine cheering on her Aggies at every home football game, and sometimes even away games.

She is primarily interested in small animal medicine, but appreciates the diverse career opportunities a DVM degree offers and is interested in exploring different fields.

Her veterinary school tip? “Don't allow being a veterinary student define who you are as a person. Develop outside interests. When I stopped stressing so much and didn't allow school to run my life, my grades actually improved—and so did my happiness.”
