is a veterinary student in the class of 2021. A first-generation
Aggie from Houston, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in
biology, with a minor in psychology, from Texas A&M in 2017.
Having grown up with family pets, her love for animals began at a
very early age, and what started as a child’s love and adoration
for animals has transformed into a strong passion for veterinary
medicine. She is interested in pursuing a career in small-animal
Emily grew up in an economically disadvantaged household with
immigrant parents who initially disapproved of her dreams of
becoming a veterinarian. She is the first in her family to graduate
from college and will be the first doctor in the family. She hopes
to share her experiences in order to inspire others to never give
up their dreams, even when success seems out of reach.
In her free time, Emily enjoys hanging out with her friends and
family, trying new foods, and watching TV shows. Her all-time
favorite show is the '90s sitcom “Friends,” which she has watched
four times through and will continue to watch until Netflix takes
it off its site.
