Kailey is a second-year veterinary student from
Austin. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas
A&M in biomedical sciences in 2016. She has always had a
passion for animals and her dreams to become a veterinarian were
solidified when she joined her high school FFA program and took her
first pre-veterinary courses. During her time as an
undergraduate, she enjoyed volunteering at Aggieland Humane
Society, as well as working at a veterinary hospital in Dripping
Springs on her summer and holiday breaks. Her plans are to
work in a mixed-animal hospital when she graduates.
Kailey’s veterinary school survival tip is to enjoy life while
you are in school! Even when classes get tough and it seems like
you are overwhelmed, life is still continuing outside of vet
school, so don’t let it pass you up! Spend as much time with
your family and friends as possible, even if that means hanging out
while you review flash cards.
