Karly Brightwell

Karly is a veterinary student in the class of 2020 and is interested in pursuing a career in small-animal surgery or exotics. She completed her undergraduate education in San Antonio at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. She also played for the UIW Women's Soccer Team. Karly worked at South Texas Veterinary Specialists Hospital in San Antonio as a surgery technician to gain most of her experience to apply for veterinary school. She has a lionhead rabbit named Arthur and a quaker parrot named Kevin. Karly also is fostering puppies until she is ready to adopt one herself. She hopes to one day have a sphynx cat.
