Laine TiedmanLaine, a San Antonio native, received her undergraduate degree in animal science from Texas A&M.

She started volunteering at a local veterinary clinic at the age of 16 after realizing that her deep fear of needles might conflict with her dream of becoming a vet. After only a couple months there, she overcame her fear and continues working at that clinic as a veterinary technician during semester breaks. As an undergraduate, she trained a service dog through primary-level training; today, the dog is completing her secondary training for diabetic alert in Arizona.

Now a veterinary student in the class of 2020, Laine hopes to incorporate her love for both dog training and pet photography into her future work as a companion-animal veterinarian.
