Raena is a second year veterinary student who wants to
specialize in mixed animal medicine. She received her undergraduate
degree Biology and Biomedical Sciences from University of Texas at
El Paso. While she is not studying she enjoys going to the movies,
being with friends and family, and outdoor activities. She
has two dogs named Peanut and Poppy.
"I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian when I was a sophomore
in undergrad. After an instructor asked me what I wanted to
do for the rest of my life. I had to choose a career that was
enriching and challenging. I knew that veterinary medicine was a
career for me," Raena said.
Raena's vet school survival tip: "Remain calm and try to take
time out to treat yourself for all your hard work."
