Sydney MedinaSydney is a veterinary student in the class of 2019 from Cibolo, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree in molecular biology with a minor in Spanish studies from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. She is the first person in her family to graduate from college and plans on working as a small-animal, general-practice veterinarian when she graduates. She has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 5 and started working as a kennel technician at 16. As an undergraduate, she continued to work at a veterinary clinic, while also completing veterinary research, tutoring in biology, monitoring dorms as a resident assistant, and volunteering in the bird department at the San Antonio Zoo.

She is particularly fond of feline medicine and has two cats named Atticus and Kyd. Her hobbies include hiking, skateboarding, and playing the ukulele. Her husband also attends Texas A&M as a pharmacy student.
