Application Requirements

The following requirements must be met before a student makes application to the program:

1. Complete all Blinn College requirements for admission. Applicant must meet all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements or show exemption prior to course work. All developmental courses must be completed prior to admission to the program. Applicant must show computer literacy by either transcript documentation of high school or college computer science courses, or by recent work history with data processing and/ or management.
2. All international students must have passed all sections of TOEFL.
3. Have completed prerequisite courses with at least a "C" in each course, and math and science courses must have been completed within the last 10 years. These courses may be in progress during the spring semester prior to the fall for which admission is sought, but final grades must appear on the official transcript that is submitted with the application packet. An overall GPA of 2.5 or greater is strongly recommended.
4. Complete the HOBET (> 70 composit) OR SAT (>1050 verbal/math) OR ACT (>24 verbal/math).
5. Must have a minimum of 40 hours of veterinary supervised experience. Documentation will be required.
6. Attend an informational session to receive an application.  Visit www.blinn.edu/twe/vet_tech and use the left hand link for "Informational Meetings" to register.  Persons with extinuating circumstances, such as distance, that would prohibit attendance at an information session should use the faculty link at the above website to contact the Director, Facilitator, or Administrative Assistant for more information and an application packet.
