Research
The Trace Element Research Lab (TERL) collectively has 90+ years
of experience in measurement of Trace and Toxic metals in all types
of tissue, water, sediment, plants, soil, and body fluids. We are
especially focused on the environmental accumulation of metals in
superfund sites, on metal impacts on the neuroendocine system,
and how metals impact the onset of sexual maturation. We have
also worked for over 20 years on the mechanisms by which
metals (especially lead) foster the intake of drugs of abuse
(alcohol, cocaine, etc).
