Bernard Appiah Defends Thesis
August 25, 2010 - Congratulations to STJR student Bernard Appiah
for successfully defending his master's thesis. Appiah defended his
thesis, "Science Journalism in Ghana: A Study of Journalists Who
Cover Science," on August 2.
Appiah, who is from Ghana, came to the STJR program with a
pharmacy degree and experience as an information pharmacist. He is
the author of the book Medicines: Using Them Safely, now in its
second edition.
Since fall 2009, Appiah has been the graduate assistant for
AuthorAID, a project to help researchers in developing countries
write about and publish their work. Recently he represented
AuthorAID at the eLearning Africa 2010 conference, held in
Zambia.
Appiah is entering the doctor of public health program at the
Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health. He will specialize in
social and behavioral health. We look forward to his continued
participation in the Texas A&M community.
