Texas A&M veterinary student awarded Marshall Scholarship

Second-year DVM student Ashton Richardson was named a recipient of the prestigious Marshall Scholarship, one of only 40 students in the United States selected for this honor. The scholarship will provide him with two fully funded years of study in any field and at any university in the United Kingdom.

Dr. William Murphy, along with postdoctoral research associate Gang Li and graduate student Brian W. Davis, recently collaborated on a work led by researchers at Washington University School of Medicine that studied the cat genome.

CVM’s Mia Aguilar awarded Morris Animal Foundation Veterinary Student Scholarship

Texas A&M veterinary student Mia Aguilar was recently selected to receive a Morris Animal Foundation (MAF) Veterinary Student Scholar program award supporting her summer research project on Methods for Discovery and Validation of Kidney, Urinary, and Serum MicroRNAs as Biomarkers of Chronic Kidney Disease in Dogs.

The college sponsored a cohort of 20 staff, faculty, and administrators to attend a 40-hour Basic Mediation Course facilitated by Dr. Nancy Watson. These leaders and future leaders learned how to better manage conflict and create a positive climate within the college.
