Congratulations to Dr. Virginia Fajt for being appointed to chair of the Antimicrobial Core Competencies Working Group within the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC). The group focuses on livestock industries, animal health, and human health.

Congratulations to Dana Whitaker for being selected as the TVMA 2016 Technician of the Year! Dana is the small animal surgery supervisor and founding member of the VET. Dana will officially receive this prestigious award during the TVMA Annual Conference on March 5, 2016.

Please congratulate Dr. Artem Rogovskyy, assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, who is now boarded by the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists in Virology and Immunology and in Bacteriology/Mycology. Only a handful of people in the world have passed all three exams, and Rogovskyy was the only person boarded in Bacteriology/Mycology this year.

Congratulations to David Forgacs, a Ph.D. student at the CVM, for placing second in the Ph.D. category of the student poster contest at the 2015 Conference of The Wildlife Society. The award was based on Forgacs’ research on the genetics of the bison in Yellowstone National Park.
