CVM, Merck Team Up For Dog Bowl Tailgate, DVM Family Day
As the Aggies prepared to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Oct. 28, football fans kicked off their gameday celebration in the Veterinary & Biomedical Education Complex Courtyard, joined by families visiting the college with their DVM students, during the second annual CVM Tailgate, sponsored by Merck Animal Health, which combined this year with the DVM Family Day. Congratulations to Dr. Bruce Akey, director of the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory and an adjunct professor in the CVM's Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, who was awarded the USDA's APHIS administrator's award during the U.S. Animal Health Association/ American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians annual meeting Oct. 12-18. The award is the highest honor given by APHIS to recognize the outstanding support of U.S. agriculture and service to veterinary medicine.
