Congratulations to graduate student Candice Chu and anatomic pathology residents Lauren Stranahan and Krystal Vail, whose research posters won first place in the natural disease category and first and third place in the diagnostic pathology category, respectively, during the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) and American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ASVCP) 2017 Concurrent Annual Meeting. Also during the meeting, Joe Kornegay, a joint-appointed professor in the CVM's Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences (VIBS), was named an ACVP honorary member for his many years of pathology-related research and teaching.
A hearty congratulations to Joanne Hardy, a clinical associate professor of veterinary surgery, who has been granted $50,000 from the Strategic Transformative Research Program (STRP) as a co-principal investigator for a project on the "Characterization of Non-Transferrin -Bound Iron (NTBI) in Mammals," with Paul Lindahl, from the Texas A&M College of Science.
