Students will be emailed weekly with updates, changes, and reminders. Be sure to check Spam or Junk folders, as some communications have been labeled as Junk in the move to Microsoft365.

Location

For in person advising:

  • We are located in Suite 123 of the VIDI (#1813) Building at the Veterinary & Biomedical Education Complex (VBEC)
  • The Physical Address for Google Maps is 668 Raymond Stotzer Pkwy, College Station, TX, 77845
  • If you are on Main Campus, you can take Bus Route 3 “Yell Practice” from the MSC. This route goes directly to our building, make sure you pull the chord to stop when you see it saying approaching Vet Med.

For Virtual Advising:

  • We offer advising services on Zoom through the following meeting link: BIMS Fall Zoom
    • Notice: If the Zoom link tells you “Invalid meeting ID”, please ensure that you are signed in to Zoom through SSO with your TAMU account.
    • If you are getting this error as a prospective student, reach out to us at bims@tamu.edu and we will provide you with the meeting ID to use.

Advising Schedule

Monday – Thursday: 8:30–11:30 a.m. and 1:30–4:30 p.m.

Friday: 10-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m.

  • Advisors will be available for both drop-ins and appointments on a rotating basis. Different advisors will have availability on different days for scheduled appointments and drop-ins, so please check alternate days if you have a preferred advisor!

Drop-Ins

Drop-In appointments are available at any point during the times listed above. Be prepared to wait in a queue, but we generally do not have wait times longer than 10-20 minutes.

BIMS Navigate Service Options

Creating an Appointment

PLEASE NOTE: Navigate will not allow you to create an appointment with a BIMS advisor unless you are a BIMS student. If you are a student from another major, please email us at bims@tamu.edu and we can get you scheduled on our side.

Appointments can be scheduled to discuss general advising questions, change of majors and minors, Q-drop or withdrawals, and class registration. You can make an appointment by following these steps:

  1. Log in to Navigate
  2. Select New Appointment page
  3. Choose Type of Appointment: Advising Texas A&M University
  4. Choose Location: VM – BIMS – see Additional Details
  5. Choose a service (i.e., VM – General Advising)
  6. Select Find Available Time
  7. Select VM-BIMS on the right side of page
  8. Find day and time
  9. Enter reason for appointment in Comments
