Comparative Gastroenterology Society and the European Society for Comparative Gastroenterology combined meeting

Please join the Comparative Gastroenterology Society (CGS) and the European Society for Comparative Gastroenterology for the inaugural combined meeting to take place in amazing Barcelona, Spain. The 4-day program will include 12+ hours of scientific abstract presentations, case reports, topic discussions with time for potential research collaborative meetings in an atmosphere that is relaxed and family friendly. All CGS and ESCG members are encouraged to present short abstracts, case studies, or lead topic discussions or hold research “chalk talks” in the interest of developing new collaborations in gastroenterology, hepatology, pancreatic diseases, or nutrition. In addition, daily group meals and receptions facilitate informal discussion and networking with colleagues. The program will be scheduled in the morning, giving ample opportunity to explore this magnificent city during the afternoon, before meeting back up in the evening for drinks and informal discussion. The activities available in Barcelona are wide ranging; the city holds appeal for art lovers, food lovers, beach lovers, history lovers, nature lovers, the list goes on!

The B Hotel ( in central Barcelona is the official meeting hotel and is equipped with a variety of double rooms, an excellent location to explore the city, and a lovely rooftop pool and bar. Please book early to secure the best rate as we have not secured a block of rooms.  Attendees are not required to book lodging at this location and are welcome to book at nearby hotels, hostels, and airbnb’s at their preference. The conference opens with a welcome reception on Tuesday (May 21st) and concludes with a reception on Saturday evening (May 25th) followed by departure on Sunday morning (May 26th). With the generous support of our sponsors the conference registration includes the scientific program, conference refreshments, and daily cocktail receptions for all participants, guests, and family members, and other events to be determined!

Conference Registration

  • § Registrants must be current members of the Comparative Gastroenterology Society or the European Society of Comparative Gastroenterology.
  • § Registration includes: 4 days of scientific abstracts and content, daily receptions
  • § Registration Fee: $118 ($123 PayPal) or €100 (€105,- PayPal, UK members), rolling registration
  • § To register: Submit the attached Registration Form  to Jan Suchodolski (CGS members) or Floris Droes (ESCG members)

Cancellation policy: After January 1 the meeting registration fee is not refundable.
