Wellness Wednesday, Aug. 24

Resilient Body & Mind

Noon to 1 p.m., VENI 101B/C

Resilience, the capacity to recover quickly from challenges and changes, helps you to navigate and bounce back from experiences you’re facing. It is also a skill that can be trained. During this presentation, Michael Hawkins, a licensed professional counselor at the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, will share his tips on resilience and provide tools to make the body and mind more resilient as you encounter setbacks, stress, and other challenges. Bring your own lunch, and snacks will be provided.

A Zoom option will be available for those who register here

Mentorship Panel

5-7 p.m., VIDI 103
Finding the right mentor can be challenging. Enjoy dinner as a panel of faculty members shares their experiences with mentorship and answer questions from the audience. This event is sponsored by VMBS student organizations VOICE, PrideVMC, Latinx VMA, the Association of Asian Vet Med Professionals, Women’s Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative, and the Christian Veterinary Fellowship.

Because dinner will be provided, please RSVP by Friday, Aug. 19

Thursday, Aug. 25 | Bingo! Mixer

Noon to 1 p.m., TWO locations: VENI 106A & old Critical Care Café

Get to know other members of the VMBS Community in a fun and playful way. By asking fellow participants questions like “Do you wear contacts? Have you ever been camping?” and “Do you drink coffee?” we will discover and celebrate the unique characteristics of others at VMBS. Learn the most about the other attendees and win prizes!

Snacks will be provided, so please RSVP by Aug. 23
