Looking for Impactful Extra Credit Opportunities?

Tell your students about how they can hear from experts in the Foreign Service sector, and receive advice on how to get involved!

Howdy! My name is Samer Rabah, and I am one of the on-campus executives of the MSC L.T. Jordan Institute for International Awareness. We are reaching out to you because we thought you might be interested in one of our upcoming programs.

On Thursday November 2nd at 7 p.m. in the Gates Ballroom, the MSC L.T. Jordan Institute, in partnership with the Bush School of Government & Public Service, will be hosting,  "Understanding Humanitarian Diplomacy: A Case Study in Latin America." Attendees will receive up-close and untapped access to the following remarkable individuals who will be discussing what humanitarian diplomacy is, and how you can be a part of it:

  • Michael Hammer:
    Former Chilean Ambassador
Former Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs
Deputy Commandant and International Affairs Advisor at the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy at the National Defense University
  • Andrew Natsios:
    Former Administrator of USAID
Director of the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs at the Bush School
  • Oni Blair:
Former Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State in Iraq
    Executive Director of LINK Houston

Ambassador Hammer's experiences in Latin America will offer unique insights to the politics and issues of an underrepresented region, while Andrew Natsios will contribute his definition of humanitarian diplomacy and countless stories of his experiences abroad with USAID.

As with other programs the MSC L.T. Jordan Institute has presented to Texas A&M, we are reaching out again to professors of various backgrounds that may be interested in our program. If you would like to offer this event as extra credit to your class, we would be happy to facilitate the process. However, this will be offered on a first-come, first-serve-basis due to limited seating. If you are interested or have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at samerrabah@tamu.edu .

Thank you!
